STORY
Instead of being perfectly round, they use slightly deformed twin Akoya pearls. Japan's pride and joy, Akoya pearls, are now produced in about one-sixth of the quantity they were in around 1967, and it is said that this is due to marine pollution and an unknown shellfish infection.
Akoya pearls are becoming rarer every year due to factors such as environmental pollution, and until now, perfectly round pearls have been considered valuable. However, at coxco, we use irregular pearls that vary slightly in shape, and we hope to make effective use of the irregularities and see beauty in them as well, creating pearls that can become "lucky charm pearls" that everyone can wear in their daily lives.
